A bra, sometimes known as a brassiere or brassière, is a form-fitting undergarment designed to support and cover the breasts. Bras have acquired symbolic significance in addition to their functional value. Because training bras become common during adolescence, the garment might represent a rite of passage into adulthood. Some feminists, however, say that bras sexualize and objectify women's breasts in order to adhere to the male gaze. According to surveys, a rising number of women[quantify] are going braless or switching to more comfortable wireless bras and bralettes to seek more comfort.
Panties (also known as pants, underpants, or knickers in British English) are a type of women's underwear. Panties can be tight or loose.
